During the cold season, second category trout and grayling rivers are closed to fishing according to local laws. Nevertheless, flyfishermen can still practice reservoir fishing. France has plenty of those very nice reservoirs, filled with rainbow trouts and other species of trouts. Reservoir fishing has therefore become very popular during fall and winter months and is also an interesting alternative when rivers flood in the early spring. As a matter of fact, the best thing about reservoir fishing is that it can be practiced under any weather conditions.
